About Dawn Kenny Counselling Service

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, stress, low mood, the impact of past experiences, grief, or feeling disconnected from yourself. Perhaps you are going through a period of change or finding it difficult to cope with emotions that feel too heavy to manage alone.

At Dawn Kenny Counselling Service, I provide a safe, warm, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. My aim is to help you feel heard, understood, and supported while working together to make sense of what you are experiencing and find ways to move forward.

I work with adults experiencing a range of emotional difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, grief, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in trauma therapy and understand how difficult experiences can continue to affect your emotions, relationships, sense of safety, and how you see yourself.

I have completed specialist training to support adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, using a trauma-informed approach that prioritises trust, safety, choice, and empowerment. I am also trained with the British Menopause Society, allowing me to provide evidence-based therapeutic support for women experiencing the emotional and psychological challenges associated with perimenopause and menopause.

Every person's journey is different, and therapy is tailored around your individual needs, goals, and experiences. Together, we can work towards developing greater self-understanding, building resilience, improving emotional wellbeing, and creating a healthier relationship with yourself.

I can support you with:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry

  • Stress and feeling overwhelmed

  • Depression and low mood

  • Trauma and the impact of difficult experiences

  • Adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse

  • Grief and loss

  • Low self-esteem and self-confidence

  • Emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Life changes and transitions

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Panic attacks

  • Perimenopause and menopause-related emotional wellbeing

  • Developing resilience and self-compassion

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but you do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. I offer a compassionate and supportive space where we can work together towards understanding, healing, and positive change.
